The seventh annual San Diego Triathlon Challenge held on Sunday November 5th featured great weather, a sold out field, world class able bodied and challenged athletes, celebrities...plus some HUGE fundraising.The half Ironman distance event benefits the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF).
Dana was there again this year to support the event, and once again did a jump into the small La Jolla Park, right next to the event and the ocean! Jumping with him was Don Swayze, his friend Matt from Ohio, and another friend Jerry (Navy Seal).

This is an excellent event and Dana is proud to support their efforts. CAF provides individual grants to athletes with a disability that are in need of funding for training, equipment or travel expenses to major competitions. It is very difficult for athletes to receive financial assistance from major sponsors, and they are often in the position to borrow from family or to obtain private funding. The CAF offsets these expenses by providing financial assistance for a specific area of need. Applications are received throughout the year until December 15th and are evaluated on an individual basis in the first week of January of each year.
